Sales Management Trainee Program Week 17

Hello! I’m Julie and I’ve had the fortune to be placed in beautiful San Ramon, California as a Category Analyst. As a Category Analyst, I am a part of the Category Leadership team that supports a bunch of different retailers on the West Coast. In my role, two of my main responsibilities are getting the necessary reports to the team and analyzing data to draw conclusions on what is best for the business.

The most challenging part of the job so far has been getting to know the retailers on the West Coast (as I am an East Coast native), mastering the systems, and digging deep into the data to understand how our business is running and how I can make it better. The San Ramon office is home to some of the best and the brightest in the company and I am so fortunate to have been placed on this team. I’ve found mentors and friends here who made me feel right at home in my new role.

It’s been almost two months now, and I have never been happier about my decision to take this role! The training and immersion programs we completed early on really helped me prepare for this role. They have been a huge advantage in this role.

With regards to California–holy cow! It’s such an incredible place to live and explore. I live in a suburb of San Francisco and it has been one wild adventure after another. So far I’ve had the pleasure of watching the sunset on Baker’s Beach and attending a wine tasting overlooking downtown San Francisco. This weekend, I’m heading out to Lake Tahoe to camp!

Here’s one of my favorite shots of the Golden Gate Bridge from Baker’s Beach!
