Upon graduation from Clemson University last May, I never thought my path would lead me to relocate from a small town in South Carolina to the big city of Chicago. But in just the few short weeks that I have been part of the Kraft Heinz family, I have never been more excited for the opportunities, growth and challenges this company has to offer.
This week we ventured to the Research and Development Center in Glenview, IL. Just getting there was a learning experience in itself for me – I can now say I know how to navigate the train system. I was very excited for this week’s immersion into R&D. We were able to experience first hand what all goes into making a product, from the initial idea to the formulation to the packaging. My favorite activity during the week was seeing the packaging equipment and tests required before a product ships to market. Overall the week provided a lot of hands on activity from facility tours to case studies. As a company of “doers”, I really enjoyed the exposure and learning opportunities it presented.
R&D week was definitely a fun week for all! I know that I was wishing I might have been a food or packaging science major after our time in Glenview. The week flew by but we are even more excited for the Global Convention next week!
