The first four weeks of the Operations Management Trainee Program have passed quickly, and Convention week is here.. Our cohort of Operations, Corporate, and Sales trainees were joined by the 2015 cohort of trainees to help facilitate the first annual Kraft Heinz Company Global Convention – quite a unique opportunity! Our preparations for the big event began on Super Bowl Sunday as several of us headed to Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center to help prepare to host nearly 1,000 company leaders that would be in attendance. As an impromptu kick-off for the week, some of us helped facilitate a party for the big game.
Over the next few days, the combined 2015 and 2016 trainee cohorts supported a wide breadth of events from registration and an exciting Stop Hunger Now event (at which we came together as a company to provide over 285,000 meals for people around the world) to zone and business unit meetings for the convention attendees. Our roles in these events provided us with great exposure to the talent and wisdom that makes this company successful. Several of the Operations Trainees were even able to have conversations with the Plant Managers of the manufacturing facilities in which they were placed.
However, the most exciting part of the entire week was the much anticipated Convention Day meeting which took place on Thursday. CEO Bernardo Hees and many instrumental players of his leadership team reflected on the successes and opportunities in 2015 and they revealed their plans for the Company in 2016. Guest speakers such as Kraft Heinz Board Member Warren Buffet and Chairman Alex Behring helped to electrify the gathering and provide insight into one of the company’s key values– ownership. To show that The Kraft Heinz Company is unified, all of those in attendance took a photo in the shape of the number one. We concluded the amazing week by celebrating the past year and the dedicated people who made it a success!
