Sales Management Trainee Program Week 5 2016

Upon graduating in December from the University of Illinois, never did I think that in just a few short months I would be sitting in a room with 1,000 of our company’s top leaders from across the globe. Participating in Kraft Heinz Global Convention was an incredible experience. On Monday, we kicked off the week with a Stop Hunger Now event where we successfully packaged over 285,000 meals for families in need across the world. It was amazing to see 1,000 employees working together to create such a positive change for a cause that is so important to Kraft Heinz. Taking part in the meal packaging event was such a fun and inspiring experience.

Tuesday and Wednesday were broken up into Zone Day and Functional Day. On Functional Day each business function held meetings. We had the privilege to help with the Sales Functional Day Meeting. We sat through the sales discussions and heard from various sales leaders across the globe. This was such an amazing experience for the sales trainees since we were able to hear from top sales leaders such as the Head of U.S. Sales, Sergio Nahuz. We also were able to meet some of the leaders from the different regions we are placed in.

Thursday was Convention Day, which consisted of many incredible presentations, guest speakers, various awards, and the exciting reveal of our new company battle cry. Our CEO, Bernardo Hees, presented the highlights from 2015 along with our 2016 goals. We had been told all week that there would be a surprise guest on Thursday. After high anticipation and a long drum roll, we were introduced to our amazing guest speaker, Warren Buffett, who also sits on the Kraft Heinz Board of Directors. We had the privilege to sit in on a Q&A session where he shared many incredible stories with us. It’s not every day that you hear words of advice from Warren Buffett.

The Global Convention was an unforgettable experience and truly reaffirmed our company culture. After such a successful week we kicked off the weekend with high energy chanting of our new company battle cry!
