Entering my fifth week as an operations management trainee, and while working up to be a Continuous Improvement Supervisor at a California plant, I’m realizing how much more there is to learn. There is plenty of support here to make me successful, but I love how independent I have been since day one. It’s truly up to me to make things happen and add value for the company.
One way we do that is by helping plants achieve a true culture of ownership. The plant I’m at is being trained on the company goals and playbooks. My fellow trainee and I have teamed up with a very passionate coworker to implement changes and offer a fresh pair of eyes to get things running. It’s riveting that we’re already taking care of huge tasks that can really help this plant grow.
