The plant that I’m working at produces frozen taquitos of various types and quantities, as well as frozen rice bowl products and a few other things under the Delimex brand. I’ve been working in production here at the plant for more than six weeks already, and the time has flown by. I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to learn about the various departments and how it takes cooperation on all fronts to run a successful operation.
Additionally, I’ve been exposed to a very different atmosphere here compared to many of our factories in the Midwest — many of our workers speak Spanish and there seems to be a tightly knit bond based on this shared cultural perspective.
I’m very excited to deliver significant results for the factory. I hope to move into a production or Continuous Improvement (CI) supervisor role after graduation from the trainee program where I can continue to drive savings while ensuring efficient, effective production on the lines. There is no doubt in my mind that everything I’ve learned so far, as well as the unrelenting support I continue to receive from everyone at the factory here, has put me on the path to succeed for years to come.
