Manufacturing Management Trainee Program Week 10 2017

This will be my 6th week at the legacy Heinz facility in Jacksonville where we produce sauces and condiments for food service. After a few weeks of shadowing all shifts, I have assumed a continuous improvement role at the facility leading and driving process improvement projects in addition to updating and maintaining efficiency information for all of our 34 packaging lines. In the short time that I have been at the facility, I have had amazing opportunities to work with senior leadership in continuous improvement and learn the thought processes that will set a strong foundation for me moving forward. I have been involved in corporate initiatives and discussions which really supports what continuous improvement seeks to accomplish at a facility and can see how these important decisions will impact the facility and the company in the long run. I am looking forward to learning more about each of our packaging lines and developing a vision with an action plan to get us where we want to be and that in itself is nothing less than exciting.
