The first week of the Manufacturing Management Trainee program was jam packed in the best way! On Sunday night before our first day of work, we all moved into our temporary housing in downtown Chicago and got deep dish pizza together as a cohort. The next day, we met all the other trainees in the Corporate and Business Development Program, and got to know each other as well as some basics about Kraft Heinz. The rest of the week we were immersed in multiple learning opportunities, including marketing overviews, negotiation training, and even a business simulation where we acted as leaders of a company in small groups, making decisions about our company and competing against each other. The week was rounded out with a visit to the Research and Development center in Glenview, IL.
Outside of our work activities, we bonded as a cohort as well as with the Business Development cohort. University Relations organized an escape room and axe throwing for us, which was really fun! Besides that, we have gone to the beach, to happy hours, dinner, Lincoln Park Zoo, and out together during the weekend, it is really great to be able to bond so closely with people who are also joining Kraft Heinz with you, and is an extremely unique opportunity to network this much in such little time. This upcoming week we are splitting into two groups to go visit different plants and learn more about manufacturing.
KETCHUP with us next week!
